Julie and Roddy have spent nearly 30 years building a life together - one involving professional puppetry, music, Morris dancing, a great deal of creativity and plenty of fun.
Their relationship began at a difficult point in Julie's life. She was raising two children alone and struggling to pay the mortgage when Roddy, a finance man she'd only just met, offered to help.
Her reaction was simple: "What a kind man. I trust this man."
Julie and Roddy have spent nearly 30 years building a life together - one involving professional puppetry, music, Morris dancing, a great deal of creativity and plenty of fun.
Their relationship began at a difficult point in Julie's life. She was raising two children alone and struggling to pay the mortgage when Roddy, a finance man she'd only just met, offered to help.

Nearly 30 years together
Today, Julie and Roddy run a professional puppeteering company, creating and performing shows that can be booked for audiences and events. They're also involved in running a large Morris dancing troupe in Norfolk.
It's a wonderfully particular life they've created together.
There are handmade puppets, performances, music and Morris dancing — not to mention an extraordinary jacket containing Roddy's old guitar strings.
But underneath all of that is a story about a long marriage.
In this short documentary, love isn't expressed through grand declarations. It appears in the things Julie and Roddy have made together, the interests they've shared, the difficult moments they've come through and the easy affection that comes from knowing somebody for most of your adult life.
And, sometimes, in Julie remembering that she once kissed a prince.
